Otherwise known as the Polar Fox, White Fox, or Snow Fox. They are associated with thick-fur that helps retain heat and protect from the harsh cold in the Arctic Circle. The Arctic Fox has a short snout and short legs that also help retain heat. The fox will always have a gorgeous snow-white coat or slight blue-gray coloring. Although once the weather warms up, the fox changes color, it's fur growing in as brown or gray. This helps camoflauge them once the snow melts and earthier colors start to poke through the icey barriers.
Usually foxes will make a home with their small family, unlike the others, Arctic Foxes usually live alone. Their incredible hearing allows them to hunt for small rodents, they can locate them even beneath the snow. The way they hunt is the most unique behaviour of these animals. When the fox hears and locates the animal under the snow, it leaps into the air and dives head first, breaking through the layer of snow right onto the prey beneath.
